Why we check listings
We don't list everyone. On purpose. Here's exactly what that means — no fine print, no mysteries.
What "Checked" means
When you see Checked by Plett Local on a listing, it means our small local team has verified that the business is genuinely local and relevant to Plettenberg Bay, that its core contact information is current, and that reasonable local reputation checks have been completed.
It is not a guarantee of future service. Businesses change, people have bad days, and things break. Checked means we looked — recently — not that we promise tomorrow.
We keep checking
Every checked listing is reviewed again within six months. If a check is due or a listing's details go quiet, it loses its Checked badge until someone here has looked again. You'll always see the last checked date on a listing's page.
You're the second pair of eyes
If something on a listing looks wrong — a phone number, an opening hour, a moved shopfront — tap Report incorrect info or a concern on that listing. Reports go straight to our team, are checked by a human, and nothing is published or changed automatically. Concerns stay private.
For business owners
You know your business best — you can send us corrections and updated information any time through your listing portal. Verification itself is always done by the Plett Local team, so the Checked badge means the same thing for every listing in town.
